Early maps indicate presence of Pre Grid settlement within the (later) road corridor. Part of Government Block ("Block 16"), site of Colonial Police Magistrate & Administrator's Residence, Temporary Pisoners Barracks. Nearby inventoried Blocks 33 & 41 resource largely destroyed, therefore this road has best potential for surviving archaeology of/in the Govt. Block.Additional Potential, especially for significant services (hydraulics, water etc.) Potential for other (undocumented) peripheral structures (privies, pits, etc.)
