Heritage Inventory Significance: Cultural:high; Scientific: low. Melb Corp Quarry said to be spread over large area, stone used for macadamizing roads (geologist T.Hall,1897). Ceased operations when flooded in 1934, used as dump. Typifies an important historical land-use. Little/no associated material. Little archaeological scope. Recycling of land (rubbish to recreation) important pattern of land-use along Merri Creek. Local (Johnston 1993)
