Caulfield is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 7 miles south-east from Melbourne’s central business district. Its Local Government Area is the City of Glen Eira. At the 2006 Census, Caulfield had a population of 4790.
It is bounded by Kooyong Road in the west, Glen Eira Road in the north, Glenhuntly Road in the south and Booran Road in the east.
Caulfield is best known as the location of Caulfield Racecourse and the Caulfield campus of Monash University.
Located between Glen Eira and Glenhuntly Roads in Melbourne's inner south-east is the small residential suburb of Caulfield. The population declined in the 1980s but has increased since 1991. Older affluent families comprise a large proportion of the population.
