Ardeer is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 16 km west from Melbourne’s central business district. Its Local Government Area is the City of Brimbank. At the 2006 Census, Ardeer had a population of 2582.
It has a railway station on the Melton greater-metropolitan line.
Bounded by the Western Ring Road to the north and west, and the Kororoit Creek in the east, Ardeer is a mixed use suburb in Melbourne's west. Like it's eastern neighbour Albion, the suburb has two distinctive land use areas - industrial to the north of Ballarat Road, and residential areas in the south. Ardeer's population declined and aged considerably over the period 1981-2006.
Ardeer Post Office opened on 1 December 1953 as suburban development took place and closed in 1979.
